Rohit Sharma returns to Ranji Trophy in top form scoring 175 off 287 balls (20 fours, 1 Six). "It's nice to score runs at the start of the season especially since it was my comeback match and also because the conditions were extremely hard. The ball kept low and the pitch was extremely slow. Rohit Earns India Test Call

Rohit Sharma has been called up for the third and final Test against West Indies to be played in his home town in Mumbai. The rest of the squad is unchanged. Rohit earned his spot by scoring a match-winning 175 against Railways and followed that up with a 100 against Rajasthan in Mumbai's first two games of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. He later tweeted, "Good news on my dad's birthday..can't get better ☺."

   

Chhetri wins MVP award in India's SAFF Cup win

After his return from Glasgow where he took part in a 5 day trial with Scottish giants Rangers FC, Chhetri joined with the national team for the SAFF Cup in Delhi. Chhetri's record of having scored in every game India played in the tournament, saw him finish as the leading goalscorer with 7 goals in 5 matches. India won 4-0 in the finals against Afghanistan as Chhetri broke the deadlock with a crucial spot kick. He finished the evening with his fifth consecutive Man-of-the-Match award, the Fair Play award, Most Valuable Player award and the coveted SAFF trophy.
